Big News & Big Moves
Happy Easter!! This year has been full of travel, big news and some big decisions to make. When we left Vietnam over 2 years ago, we never expected to be out of the country for so long, but COVID has changed the world as we know it and has challenged us to really seek the Lord about what is best for our family. Keep reading to find out more!

An All-American Family at Last

One of the biggest blessings of the year so far is that Daniel is now officially an American citizen! After 4 years of paperwork and waiting, he finally became a US citizen on February 15th. We were also able to get Avigail registered as an American and get her an emergency passport here so we were all able to travel back to Minnesota for the ceremony. Thanks to Sun Country airlines and their cheap flights, we could go as a family so Cassandra's dad was able to meet Avigail and we were able to get some legal and medical things done for both Daniel and Avigail.

Ministry Opportunities

Nail Salon Girls: While my mom and I (Cassandra) were getting our nails done, the girls at the salon were talking about a lot of different things and then religion came up. They were sharing about their religious upbringings and beliefs at the moment. I was able to share with them about my relationship with God and how much He loves them. It was such a precious time to encourage them to seek their own relationships with the Lord as well.
Rosy: Several times a week we eat lunch at the local gordita (a Durango specialty that's like a stuffed taco) stand. We have become friends with the owner, Rosy, and talk every time we eat there. Our last day there before going to the States Rosy seemed very worried and anxious. I asked her what was going on and she shared about some financial struggles she'd been having with the restaurant. We gave her a big tip that day and prayed for peace and provision over her. She was very touched by our compassion and prayers.

Reaching Vietnamese Around the World: One of the things that Daniel has been working on is making the books he translates available for Vietnamese around the world. Previously he was only able to print books in Vietnam and reach people that he was connected to. Now people from any part of the world can download the books online or have them printed on demand and delivered to their houses. What a blessing to be able to touch people in any part of the world!

The Big Upcoming Move

With everything going on in our lives at this time and now that Daniel is a US citizen, we've really been seeking God about where we should go and what this next season of life holds. Vietnam is starting to open up slowly but there are still a lot of COVID related restrictions in Ho Chi Minh City. We don't feel like it is the right time for us to go back as things are still so restricted there. We actually feel like God is leading us to spend the next year in Mazatlan. Durango has been a great place for us over the past 6 months, but we want to be at a base that's a bit more established and has more opportunities for us to join in on. There are a lot of young families with kids similar ages to ours, plus more potential babysitters around so hopefully I can get out and get more involved in things. We have really missed being a part of a community and being able to make more connections. We will be moving down there next month and are very excited to see all that God has in store for us there!

Prayer Requests
1. For our move to Mazatlan - that the kids would adjust well and we'd be able to get connected quickly.
2. For Daniel as he travels back to Vietnam for a few weeks to reconnect with the base there and see his family after over 2 years of being away.
3. That Lydia would start sleeping better again - she's been really struggling the past couple months with all our moving around.
4. For more opportunities to share the love of Christ with the people around us.

5. To find a place in Ho Chi Minh City to store the books that are printed and waiting to be sold.
Thank you to everyone who has continued to pray for and support us in so many ways. It was great getting to see some of you while we were in Minnesota. The last couple of years have been full of uncertainty, changes in our plans and a lot of waiting so we are so appreciative of your understanding and continued support.

Blessings,
Daniel, Cassandra, Lydia & Avigail
