Mazatlan & Vietnam

We've been in Mazatlan for 4 months now and it's been such a blessing to be here. We're really settling in and enjoying being a part of the base community. Lydia turned 2 in July and Avigail is now 9 months old, so life in our house is never quiet or dull!

Life in Mazatlan

We've finally settled into more of a routine here. Daniel continues to work at home translating books and Christian resources, and managing websites. We are so grateful for technology that enables us to bless Vietnamese people from the other side of the globe! I (Cassandra) am home with the girls most of the time, however, there are several other families with young children around, so it's been nice to get together for play dates and uplifting conversation with other moms. I have also been able to join the mom's Bible study which has been a big blessing for me. We join base worship each week and some family dinners as well. We recently started attending a local bilingual church too! Lydia really enjoys playing with her new friends and Avigail is full of smiles for everyone who looks at her :)

Trip to Vietnam

Daniel was able to go home for several weeks this summer for the first time in 2.5 years. It was a refreshing time for him to reconnect with his family and YWAM Vietnam. He was able to attend a YWAM staff conference, teach on the DTS (Discipleship Training School), translate and lead worship for a few community night meetings, meet with some of the YWAM Vietnam leaders, find a place to store the books he's translated and printed, spend time with his family, and eat A LOT of delicious Vietnamese food! It was hard to be apart and Lydia talked about taking a plane to "fly to Daddy" all the time while he was gone. My parents were able to come down while he was away to help out and be with their granddaughters, which was such a big help!

Praise Reports

Our first and biggest praise report is that Daniel is doing SOO much better with his Crohn's disease. We really appreciate the way that so many of you have been praying for him for such a long time. We really see the Lord's hand over us in this. While we were still in Durango, we saw a doctor who prescribed an additional medicine for Daniel to take and it really made a difference! Daniel's doctor in MN said that it's an older medicine that isn't often used in the States anymore. We are just amazed at God's goodness over us to direct us to the right doctor to prescribe just the right thing so that Daniel is now doing much better! PRAISE THE LORD!

We are also really grateful to have found a house to rent in Mazatlan that is close to the base and in our price range. The base is in a small neighborhood and there aren't many houses available most of the time, but it just so happened that there was one house going on the market right when we moved here! It is such a blessing to be within walking distance of the base and many of the staff families here.

Lastly, we praise God that Lydia finally started napping again after months of difficulty. Thank you for praying for this! If any of you are parents, you know how hard it is when your kids aren't sleeping well!

Prayer Requests
1. For Cassandra to find ways to get involved in ministry while working around the girls' schedule and daily needs.
2. For Daniel to find more people to join with him in his translation ministry.
3. For wisdom and direction from the Lord for the future.
4. For patience as we move into the toddler years :)
Thank you to everyone who has been praying for us and continued to support us in so many ways over these years and different seasons of life. Your prayers and support mean so much to us. Please let us know how you are doing and how we can be praying for you in this season of your life!

Blessings,
Daniel, Cassandra, Lydia & Avigail
